Ins and Outs of 2025
Hello loves, Happy Tuesday! I hope you are having a fabulous day.
As we enter January there has been a lot of discussion about 2025’s ins and outs. 2025 is a year for peace, wellness, balance, uniqueness, change, and boldness. That being said these are my ins and outs of 2025!
INs:
- Aqua/turquoise blue, gold, shades of white
I believe these main colors are going to be staple colors in 2025. All represent rejuvenation, purity, power, and peace. These colors are definitely going to be found in a lot of clothing pieces and accessories, as they evoke tranquility and strength which is what we are carrying into 2025.
- Sequins/beaded outfits
Sequins and beaded outfits are SO in as they have the ability to add major or minor detail to one’s outfit, making it perfect for casual and formal occasions. As many of us have emerged from a challenging year the playfulness of these embellishments offers a refreshing and joyful approach to fashion.
- Flowy boho chic clothing
It’s time to replace your tight-fitting clothes with flowy, airy outfits. Boho chic captures effortless style, which allows people to relax and feel comfortable. The focus on the flowy-ness of boho chic allows for comfort and the freedom of movement to be embraced.
- Thrifting & Fashion pop-ups
Although thrifting is somewhat common, I think the industry is going to expand this year. I also think fashion boutique pop-ups will continue to expand throughout Sunday markets and other special events.
The growth of thrifting reflects a shift toward sustainability and mindful fashion consumption, as many struggle with overconsumption. As this industry expands people will be able to find more individualistic one-of-a-kind pieces, allowing them to stand out. Moreover, fashion pop-ups cater to the localized shopping experience that many desire. The temporality of these boutiques creates unique exclusiveness that many crave in their communities.
- Capris
Love them or hate them, they are in. I feel that capris have been sort of controversial, however, if styled right they can be gorgeous. Paring a kitten heal with a pair of capris and a tailored blouse creates and chic and sophisticated look, which happens to be ideal for any occasion.
- Bold statement accessories
Bold statement accessories started making their appearances toward the middle to end of 2024 and they will most definitely be carried into 2025. These pieces continue to define personal style and add flair to any type of outfit. Whether the accessory is a large piece of jewelry such as a chunky ring, or a mini boldly colored purse, they offer a way to showcase individuality.
OUTs:
- High waisted
Personally, I have had enough of high-waisted, and I think so has everyone else.
Low-rise and mid-rise everything is gaining momentum as they bring a new and fresh perspective to contemporary fashion! Its silhouettes provide a much more relaxed fit that is flattering to various body types, additionally allowing easy movement + comfort. Finally a break from the high-waisted trend that’s been dominating for several years. It’s starting to become extremely overworn and basic. Now, I think some people can really rock a pair of high-waisted jeans or shorts, but it’s had its time.
- Logos on clothing
Logos on clothing have become over-saturated, prompting a shift towards more understated designs and branding. Consumers are increasingly seeking simplicity and sophistication in their fashion choices. Rather than relying on logos to make a statement, individuals now express themselves through statement pieces, bold colors, unique textures, and high-quality materials. As we move beyond logos in 2024 and embrace the simplicity of clothing in 2025, there will be a growing appreciation for craftsmanship, quality, and thoughtful design.
- Crop tops
Crop tops are falling out of fashion’s favor as new trends evolve. As a society, we are moving towards a more versatile, professional, and modest style. Instead of crop tops, we can see an increase in longer, flowing tops and layered looks, providing a chic, polished appearance. These changes are allowing for greater adaptability, providing a timeless, classic look for one’s wardrobe.
- Fast fashion/micro trends
Fast fashion and micro trends are becoming increasingly viewed as unsustainable in the fashion industry. There has been a noticeable shift in investing in quality pieces, as they offer longevity. Rather than jumping onto the latest micro trend, individuals are seeking styles that can be worn for multiple seasons. This reflects the desire for more thoughtful fashion choices, rather than simply following a trend. Moving into 2025 more intentional approaches toward fashion will likely emerge, highlighting sustainability and personal style rather than rapid trends.
